One of the most important issues on our hearts, as we planted Cornerstone Church, was that this church would be a praying church. We don't just want a church that can be explained in human terms. We want to know that we've experienced eveything that God called us to be.
As we all know, in the busyness of life and all the distractions, it's easy to lose some of the passion for prayer in our personal lives and the church.
As we continue to ask what our future looks like at Cornerstone Church, we sense that nudging to make sure that we don't lose the original vision, that we had, to be a church that impacts our world by the supernatural power of God. We have been feeling a strong prompting to pray more.
As most of you are probably aware; Billy Graham passed away this morning. If there was ever an example of what could happen with the power of God's blessing on a simple person, Billy was that example. God hasn't called us to duplicate Billy Graham's ministry, but He has called us to walk in the same power of the Holy Spirit.
We'd like to begin taking about 15 minutes on Sunday mornings before church to just pray and worship God. I'm planning to lead a prayer time in the corner room to the north of the nursery area. If you would like to join me show up at 9:30 on Sunday mornings in that room.
I believe that the time spent praying is the most important time, but it's also the one thing that seems to get pushed back and I'd like to make it more of a priority. We need the leading and protection of God, so let's pray!
